A Legacy in Full Voice: Introducing the Jesse Flanigan Memorial Scholarship Fund

June 24, 2026

Honoring the Legacy of Major Jesse Flanigan IV, United States Air Force, Retired.

Every boy who sings with the Atlanta Boy Choir leaves with something he keeps for life. For Major Jesse Flanigan IV, United States Air Force, Retired, the years he spent here shaped a voice, a discipline, and a sense of belonging that stayed with him long after his final concert. This summer, his name carries that gift forward to a new generation.

A member of the Atlanta Boy Choir in the early 1980s, Major Flanigan exemplified the values of excellence, discipline, and service throughout his life. After attending Woodward Academy, he earned a degree in Physics from Georgia Tech and later received a master’s degree in International Affairs from Troy University. As a United States Air Force officer and Space Analyst, Major Flanigan devoted more than 20 years to global space and intelligence operations, becoming a respected expert in his field.

Today, his legacy continues through the Jesse Flanigan Memorial Scholarship Fund, which has been initially funded by the generosity and love of his mother, Mrs. Camellia Flanigan, to help ensure that talented choristers have access to the educational and musical opportunities offered by the Atlanta Boy Choir, regardless of what their family can afford. The Scholarship Fund’s inaugural gift to the community has already taken the stage, in the form of tour scholarships for seven incredible Atlanta public school students who were able to join the Choir’s recent 2026 Southeastern Heritage Tour.

We are deeply grateful to Mrs. Flanigan for her generosity and commitment to supporting future generations of choristers. Through this scholarship, Major Flanigan’s legacy lives on, opening doors for young boys to grow as musicians, scholars, and leaders while carrying forward the mission of the Atlanta Boy Choir.

Every voice deserves the chance to be heard, so please join us in celebrating this year’s scholarship recipients, and thank you to all who help make these opportunities possible.
