A Voice the World Listens To: The Atlanta Boy Choir’s FIFA Spotlight

July 29, 2026

From a World Cup spotlight to the season ahead, why partnering with an 80-year Atlanta institution is an investment in the city's future.

For 80 years, the Atlanta Boy Choir has shaped boys through choral music, and along the way it has carried Atlanta's voice to some of the most storied stages in the world. Carnegie Hall. The White House. The Vatican. Concert halls across more than two dozen countries. A Grammy Award. More than 5,000 alumni who still carry what they learned here into their lives, their communities, and their careers.

This summer, that voice reached a new kind of audience. As Atlanta welcomed the world for the FIFA World Cup, the Atlanta Boy Choir was featured in a World Cup spotlight, placing our young singers alongside one of the largest sporting moments on the planet.

A moment on the world's stage

A few weeks before the FIFA World Cup began, the Atlanta Boy Choir was invited by Host Broadcasting Services (HBS), FIFA’s official broadcast partner, to participate in the making of a feature intended for distribution to over 240 broadcasters worldwide. The spotlight piece was in connection with the Haiti-Morocco match.

Working closely with the HBS, the production anchored on the Choir performing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,” along with interviews featuring choristers, alumni and Atlanta Boy Choir leadership. Additional footage captured the boys enjoying a friendly pick-up soccer match, highlighting the teamwork and camaraderie that define the Choir experience.

In the few weeks leading up to filming, excitement spread throughout the organization. Artistic Director, Bryan Priddy prepared the boys musically while Interim Managing Director, Sheridan Ameer coordinated locations, worked closely with HBS producers, designed custom Atlanta Boy Choir soccer jerseys, and assembled themed soccer jerseys and a complete soccer kit for the featured choristers and alumni.

Filming took place on Saturday, June 20th, beginning at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, where the boys performed in the church’s beautiful sanctuary. The producer also interviewed recent alumnus Theo, who reflected on his Haitian heritage, his love. He spoke of his Haitian heritage, love of the beautiful game, and the impact of the Atlanta Boy Choir has had on his life. Current chorister Jason Jr. shared his own experiences in the Choir, while Board Chairman, Theron McLarty spoke of the organization’s rich history and mission.

Following lunch, the production moved to Marietta Gateway Fields, where the boys spent a few hours filming a spirited pick-up soccer match. Despite the sweltering Atlanta summer heat, the enthusiasm never faded. One of the most memorable moments was watching the boys connect so naturally with the international HBS production crew. The shared language of music and sport made for an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

The project gave the boys a unique opportunity to represent the Atlanta Boy Choir, Atlanta and the United States, and experience firsthand the collaboration that goes into an international television production. For a choir that has always believed music can represent this city on any stage, being part of a World Cup moment felt exactly right.

The partners behind the music

Moments like these do not happen alone. Behind every stage the Atlanta Boy Choir steps onto is a community of sponsors, supporters, and partner organizations who believe that investing in young artists is investing in the city's future. And as we open a new season, we are looking for a few more of them.

Partnering with the Atlanta Boy Choir means aligning your name with an 80-year institution beloved across Atlanta and recognized around the world. It means standing behind a mission where cost is never a barrier, where scholarship support keeps our doors open to every family, and where boys grow into leaders long after their final note. And it means real visibility, at our concerts, on our stages, across our growing community online, and in moments like the one we just shared with the world.

Whether you are a business looking to invest in youth and the arts, a community organization seeking a partner, or a supporter who simply believes in what we do, there is a place for you in this season.

Eighty years of musical excellence has always been made possible by people who chose to be part of the story. We would love to write the next chapter with you.
