Alumni & Community

Once a Chorister,

Always a Chorister.

The Atlanta Boy Choir helped shape the man you have become. Now, new boys stand where you once stood. Come join us and help guide the next generation of Choir boys.

In Memoriam

Dr. W. Theron McLarty, Jr.

The Atlanta Boy Choir mourns the passing of Dr. W. Theron McLarty, Jr., a beloved member of the Choir's Board of Directors, a cherished friend to our entire organization, and father of our current Board Chairman, W. Theron McLarty III.

For many years, Dr. McLarty and his late wife, Donna Wilson McLarty, gave generously of their time, their hearts, and their support to the Atlanta Boy Choir. A distinguished Atlanta psychiatrist, Dr. McLarty accompanied the Choir on numerous tours, tending not only to the health of our young choristers but to their wellbeing and comfort far from home — a quiet, steady presence generations of boys came to rely on.

Music was one of the great loves of Dr. McLarty's rich and full life, and the Atlanta Boy Choir was fortunate to be among the causes closest to his heart. We hold his memory with deep gratitude and will carry forward the warmth and devotion he brought to our Choir family for so many years.

In lieu of flowers, the McLarty family has asked that memorial gifts be made to the Atlanta Boy Choir.

The Choir Today

80 Years and Still Singing

Established in 1946, the Atlanta Boy Choir continues to train young men through rigorous choral performance, cultural engagement, and the kind of discipline that shapes a life. The Choir has performed in 26 countries, earned a Grammy Award, and produced thousands of alumni who have gone on to careers in music, education, business, law, medicine, and public service.

Under the new leadership of Artistic Director, S. Bryan Priddy, the Choir operates Training, Concert, and Tour Choir levels. In June 2026, the Tour Choir will embark on a six-day Southeastern Heritage Tour through historic civil rights landmarks in Atlanta, Selma, Birmingham, Montgomery, Tuskegee, and Mobile.

The ABC Storybank

Your Story Is Part of This History

The Atlanta Boy Choir's impact lives in the stories of its alumni. Where the Choir took you, what it taught you, the friendships it built. These stories matter. They shape how donors, families, and communities understand what this organization does, and they remind current choristers that the tradition they are part of is real and lasting.

How did the Choir influence your career or life path?
Whether you went into music or something entirely different, the training and experiences often left a mark. Tell us how.

Alumni Men's Choir

Pick Up Where You Left Off

The Alumni Men's Choir is an open invitation for former choristers to sing together again. Whether you've kept up your voice or haven't sung since your last ABC concert, this is your place.

The ensemble performs at alumni events, fundraisers, and select concerts alongside the current Choir. Rehearsals are designed for working professionals, and the only requirement is that you were once an Atlanta Boy Choir chorister.

This is not about perfection. It's about reconnection, through the music that brought you together in the first place.
